Deputies investigating after 3 people shot, 1 fatally, in Richmond County

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a triple shooting Wednesday night that left a man dead.

Officials said the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. on Maner Road in Rockingham.

When deputies arrived, they found 25-year-old Christopher Easterling in the front yard, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was conscious and flown to the hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.

Deputies entered the house and found another gunshot victim, 28-year-old Sylvester Wilburn, lying on the living room floor. He was also flown to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

While interviewing witnesses, deputies found a woman, Erica Kendall, 23, who had been shot in the lower leg. She was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released.

The sheriff told Channel 9 that the shootings are under investigation and that no charges have been filed yet.

No other details have been released.
