Deputies: SC man found beaten to death

COLUMBIA, S.C. — (AP) Sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in Richland County.

Sgt. Curtis Wilson says the man's relatives found his body at around 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Wilson says investigators think the man died from injuries to the upper body.

The coroner's office has not released the man's name, but authorities say that he was in his 70s. Investigators are trying to determine how long the man had been dead.
