CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A woman was stabbed Monday afternoon in Catawba County in a possible road rage incident, deputies said.
Deputies said her husband pulled into a fire department south of Hickory to get help.
Danny Pennington told Channel 9's Dave Faherty that he is in disbelief that someone stabbed his wife. He said it started when a car nearly rear-ended his SUV south of Hickory on Grace Church Road.
Officials are working to collect evidence from the SUV involved.

Donna Dixon was rushed to the hospital. She underwent surgery Monday afternoon after being stabbed just below the chest.
Pennington said the road rage incident happened very quickly. At one point, he decided to pull over to let the other car pass.
"I pulled off the road to let her go around she jumped out hit my wife in the mouth and stabbed her," he said.
Pennington described the other car as a Honda. He said the female driver took off after the stabbing. He hopes deputies make an arrest in the case.
