CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A sheriff's deputy from Caldwell County was nearly hit head-on Thursday during a chase through two counties.
The pursuit started near Granite Falls when the deputy spotted someone driving with an expired tag.
That chase ended in a neighborhood in northwest Hickory when the driver blew a tire and couldn't go any farther.
Deputies took her into custody after a short foot chase near some homes.
