Developer aims to build 400 homes near Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, N.C. — A developer wants to annex 200 acres near the Cabarrus-Mecklenburg County line to build more than 400 homes.

If approved, it would be the latest in a string of large residential projects planned for the fast-growing Harrisburg area.

One option for the development would be patio homes off Plaza Road Extension. The project would build an average of 70 homes a year over seven years.

Officials are scheduled to talk about it during their meeting next week.
