Developer snapping up more land in downtown Kannapolis

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Lansing Melbourne Group is continuing its progress in helping remake downtown Kannapolis.

Last week, Kannapolis City Council held a public hearing to approve a sale agreement for more downtown building space to go to Florida-based LMG for redevelopment. LMG will pay $1.2 million for 14 building spaces with approximately 115,000 square feet of space, according to city documents. The sale includes buildings known as Block 1 on the Main Street side of downtown Kannapolis, documents state.

The purchase adds even more space to LMG’s redevelopment portfolio as part of the larger, $500 million downtown revitalization project by the city of Kannapolis.
