CONCORD, N.C. — Military planes flew over Concord on Thursday in preparations for the Coca-Cola 600.
Channel 9 received messages on Facebook that military planes flew low over the Concord area.
We made calls to Charlotte Motor Speedway officials, who confirmed the flyovers were practice for the race.
Officials said they will be practicing again at 9 a.m. on Friday in the area.
The pre-race events are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, followed by the race at 6:15 p.m.
