GASTON COUNTY, N.C. - The driver who hit a man in Gaston County and left him in the road turned himself in, according to authorities.
Police said Jerry Orrell turned himself in overnight.
Orrell was driving a white SUV when it struck John King April 18.
Authorities said King was hit by two cars crossing East Long Avenue.
King died Thursday as a result of his injuries.
Orell faces multiple charges, including second-degree murder and felony hit-and-run.
Police said they still need help finding the driver of the second car that hit King.
Orrell is behind bars on $500,000 bond.
