ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — In a perfect world, traffic should move smoothly, but on Thursday cars were stagnant on Interstate 85 in Rowan County during both the morning and afternoon commutes.

Several drivers could be seen getting out and walking on the interstate after minor accidents left traffic backed up for miles.
Some frustrated drivers could be seen going the wrong way down entrance ramps.
The portion of I-85 near China Grove is a construction zone with barricades, so there is no way for drivers to get around it -- not even first responders.
Watch the video above as Channel 9's Dashawn Brown asks emergency services what drivers should do when they're stuck near construction zones.
