2 cats saved from east Charlotte house fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Fire Department firefighters were on scene of a house fire Wednesday afternoon on Bluestone Court at Cedarwild Road.
 
The fire department was called out at 10:50 a.m. There was heavy smoke and fire showing.
 
Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the scene and saw firefighters carrying out an animal.

Channel 9 reporter Kathryn Burcham tweeted out a photo of firefighters giving a cat named Homer oxygen.  Fire officials said another cat named Mo was saved from the house also.

Animal Control officers said both cats are expected to be OK.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire.

Fire officials said the home is a complete loss.
