Epic Mud Maze, a massive obstacle course, to raise money for Habitat for Humanity

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Hundreds of people got down and dirty for a good cause Saturday night.

They attempted to complete the Epic Mud Maze, an obstacle course spread out over three acres that included food and beer. in addition to the mud.

Participants had more than 75 different paths from which to choose.

The proceeds are going to help Habitat for Humanity.

“We were just looking for a great organization,” organizer Jimmy Sweitzer said. “Ultimately, I volunteered for Habitat for Humanity before. I've worked at the Restore. I've also helped build some of the houses and it just seemed like a good fit for us.”

In August, the group will hold a mud volleyball tournament at the same location with a goal of raising $100,000.
