CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A woman is recovering in the hospital after shots rattled her home Wednesday night in west Charlotte.
A family member didn't want to go on camera, but he told Eyewitness News that Jackie Hinson is still recovering at the hospital. He said she spoke Thursday.
Her neighbors are concerned after what they call a "drive-by shooting."
"Thank God nobody got killed," one neighbor said.
According to police, the victim was shot in the head and leg Wednesday night. Three other people were also inside the home but were not injured.
Police said they were called out to the home on Brentwood Place at around 8:30 p.m. Police have not said if they are looking for a suspect.
Evangeline Ligon is in the area often because her step-father lives across the street from the home that saw all of that violence. She's worried about his safety.
"None of us are exempt," Ligon said. "I'm very fearful. I just want the best for everybody. All we can do is get in the house and pray and stay prayed up."
Police said the victim's injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, but people on this street will still be praying for their neighbor.
