HARRISBURG, N.C. — A family of four was able to escape unharmed after a fire broke out at their Harrisburg home early Thursday morning.
Firefighters were called around 4:30 a.m. to the house on Roseway Court, near Rocky River Crossing and Roberta roads, and reported seeing heavy flames coming from the second floor.
Investigators said that’s where the fire started, and that all four people inside managed to get out without being hurt.

A couple, their two children and a family dog were inside, but made it out safely.
Channel 9 asked one of the homeowners what they plan to do after they watched their home burn while waiting for fire crews.
"I have no idea, never had a house catch on fire,” said Scot Slaughter. “May have to get a room for the night and see what goes on from there, I have no idea."
Slaughter told Channel 9 that his family has been in the home since last July.
Fire officials are still working to determine what started the fire.
