Family: 3-year-old injured in Sharon Rd. wreck has died

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The family of the victims of a deadly car crash want to clear up rumors about what led up to the accident.

CMPD officers responded to the crash Wednesday on Sharon Road West. When they arrived they found a Mercury Sable, driven by Shaquise Bush, that had struck a telephone pole. Bush was pronounced dead on the scene.

Shaquna Wilson, her 18-month-old daughter and 3-year-old son were also in the car.

A family member said the 3-year-old boy died Monday afternoon. He had sustained massive head injuries and was hooked up to a breathing machine.

Police believe speed may have contributed to this deadly crash.

But Tuquory Bush, the brother of the woman who died, told Eyewitness News there's no way his sister would've been driving recklessly.

"I highly doubt she would do that. My sister wouldn't drive like that," says Bush.
