CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The FBI needs the public's help trying to identify and find a man suspected of sexually exploiting a child.

Images and video of the unidentified adult male, who the FBI are calling John Doe 28, engaging in sexually explicit activities with a child were first recorded by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in November of 2012.

Investigators for the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children have successfully enhanced images depicting John Doe 28 and think they contain several clues, which may assist with the identification of the subject.

For example, the video depicts the man and the victim inside a house with what appears to be a blue sofa chair and a picture hanging on a wall in the background. The man is also wearing wire-framed glasses and a burgundy t-shirt with what appears to be a shark logo on his left side.

There are no specific details linking the suspect to a particular state or region of the United States -- or any specific tie to North Carolina -- and both his identity and whereabouts are currently unknown.

John Doe 28 appears to be a Caucasian male, possibly in his 30s or 40s, with a receding hairline and wearing wire-framed glasses.
