Fire at assisted living center ruled accidental

ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — A fire at an assisted living facility in Alexander County has been ruled an accident, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office said.

Firefighters from several departments responded to the fire at Alexander Assisted Living on Highway 16 South on Wednesday.

No one was injured in the incident.

The Fire Marshall's Office and Sheriff's Office investigated the cause of the fire, which was contained to one resident's room. It was ruled an accident and the case was closed, officials said.
