Fire destroys home in Gaston County

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Firefighters in Crowder’s Mountain spent part of their night battling a house fire in Gastonia.

According to fire officials, firefighters were called to the Davis Heights Drive home shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Capt. Tony Grissom from Crowder's Mountain Fire & Rescue was the first person to get to the scene where he found a fully involved fire with flames shooting from the roof, windows and doors.

It took 30 firefighters and four trucks 30 minutes to put out the fire.

Fire officials declared the home a total loss, and said the fire is under investigation.

No one was injured in the fire.
