Fire forces residents out of high-rise apartment building

CHARLOTTE — Fire forced residents out of a 12-story senior high-rise apartment building on Sunday morning.

Firefighters said they were called to the Hall House on North Tryon because of a fire alarm.

Upon arrival, they found smoke pouring out of the eighth floor.

Two people were treated on the scene, but will be OK.

The American Red Cross is helping residents of four units.

Firefighters have not released a cause for the fire.
