Firefighters put out flames at west Charlotte vacant home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte firefighters responded to a fire at a vacant home late Saturday night in west Charlotte.

Crews arrived at the home on Avalon Avenue near Tuckaseegee Road around 10:15 p.m. and found heavy flames and smoke pouring from the building.

It took firefighters just about 25 minutes to extinguish the flames. Nobody was hurt.

Investigators are trying to determine how the blaze started.
