First meeting tonight on Carolina Thread Trail

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — The first in a series of public hearings about a network of trails that would stretch through the Carolinas will take place Thursday night.

The network is being called the Carolina Thread Trail and it includes greenways and other conservation corridors. It would link more than 2.3 million people from 15 counties.

Rowan County wants to develop a master plan for its section and residents can give their input at the Old Cabarrus Bank building on West Avenue in Kannapolis from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
