KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Firefighters said lightning caused massive damage to a home in Kannapolis Monday night.
Fire crews rushed to the home on Courtland Court just after 10 p.m. and when they arrived they saw flames shooting from the house.
Firefighters worked to bring the fire under control, but the home suffered heavy damage.
Fire investigators told Channel 9 that it appears the fire was caused by a lightning strike from storms in the area at the time.
Nobody was home when the flames broke out.
