Flu-related deaths hit 100 in NC

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — As the end of flu season nears, North Carolina is seeing nearly double the flu deaths from last year.

Just last week two more people died from flu-related illnesses -- bringing the total to 100.

There were 59 flu deaths in North Carolina in all of last year.

This flu season most of the victims were younger -- between the ages of 25 and 64.
