HICKORY, N.C. — A former bouncer at a pool hall in Hickory will spend several years in jail for the beating death of a local man.
Richard Cunningham pleaded guilty Tuesday afternoon to voluntary manslaughter in the December 2015 death of Matthew Lee Swanson.
Cunningham was working at Randolph Billiards in downtown Hickory when, police said, surveillance video showed him striking Swanson.
A judge sentenced Cunningham to three to five years of prison time.
