HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Federal prosecutors charged a Huntersville area headmaster with embezzling $9 million from a school and a church.
Channel 9 first broke the investigation into Southlake Christian School and church back in 2014.
Investigators said Wayne Parker siphoned off money to spend on personal lifestyle, including Panthers PSLs and real estate.
A U.S. attorney said Parker forced pay cuts for teachers in a recession to finance his $1 million lake home.
Parker has been charged with wire fraud, prosecutors said.
In a statement, the school said it is grateful for the investigation.
