There is great news for drivers this Fourth of July holiday weekend as gas prices could hit a 13-year low.
There is currently a huge supply of crude oil on the global market that is pushing down prices and demand has not kept up.
AAA said the cheap gas will likely fuel a near-record weekend for holiday travel.
Currently, Charlotte drivers are paying about $2.14 for a gallon of regular gasoline.
The statewide average is a couple of cents more expensive.
South Carolina drivers are paying some of the cheapest prices in the nation at just a $1.98 per gallon.
