GASTON COUNTY, N.C. - The Gaston County Commissioners said they are on board with one company's ides to turn an old land-
fill into a solar farm.
The idea centers on vacant land at the abandoned Auten Road landfill off New Hope Road in Gastonia.
Calor Energy of Charlotte is spearheading the idea and will spend the next year working with state and federal environmental groups to meet certain requirements.
If the plan works out, Gaston County would get a share of the profits.
