21 guns stolen in north Charlotte pawn shop robbery, CMPD says

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Sources said two armed robbers stole as many as 21 guns from a pawn shop on North Tryon Street Wednesday afternoon.

Officers said the suspects came into the store around 3:30 p.m. and robbed the business at gunpoint.

They stole 21 firearms, jewelry and a video game system, police said.

In June, Channel 9 reported on another armed robbery at the same Cash America Pawn store, when thieves fired shots with customers and employees inside.

In the last two weeks, investigators across several North Carolina counties have been faced with gun shop robberies, including in Concord, Cornelius and Mount Holly.

Channel 9 reached out to corporate management for Cash America Pawn on whether any employees were hurt, but they declined to comment.

Police said nobody was hurt.

Investigators haven't made any arrests in connection with Wednesday's robbery.
