HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C — A young North Carolina boy will get the chance to run out onto an NFL field this weekend, thanks to the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
Andre Williamson's Big Brother entered his name in the Carolina Panther's Kids Club earlier this summer.
Last week, he found out Williamson had been selected to grab the tee off the field after the second half kickoff during this weekend's game between the Panthers and the Green Bay Packers at Bank of America Stadium in uptown.
Williamson said he is looking forward to getting a close encounter with his favorite quarterback.
"I want to, like, hand the tee to Cam Newton while it’s the second half. I might stand beside him if I can. Or I might stand next to one of the coaches," he said.
The Panthers kick off against the Packers at 1 p.m. Sunday.
