Hickory man to spend year in prison for multiple thefts

HICKORY, S.C. — A Hickory man will spend at least a year in prison for thefts he committed across the country.

The Hickory Daily Record reports that Frederick Charles Washburn pleaded guilty to stealing property in the Carolinas, California and Florida.

Police said he stole trailers, boats, jet skis and cars, and then sold them online.

He will spend between 12 and 16 months in prison.
