Hickory officials reconsidering part of City Walk project

HICKORY, N.C. — Hickory officials are reconsidering part of the City Walk project for the downtown area because some business owners said it could close their shops.

The City Walk project improves Main Avenue, from Lenoir-Rhyne University to downtown Hickory, according to our partners at the Daily Record.

Downtown business owners said they aren't fans for the project because of the lengthy construction time and lack of parking.

City leaders said they are reconsidering the Union Square portion of the project.
