CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A busy Myers Park road was blocked early Thursday morning and remained so for hours as police investigated a hit-and-run.
Officers said someone crashed into a utility pole on Runnymede Lane, just east of Colony Road around 2:30 a.m. and then fled the scene before police arrived.

Duke Energy had to be called to repair the power pole and officials told Channel 9 the road would be shut down throughout the morning, causing massive traffic headaches in the area.
Runnymede Lane was closed between Rockbrook Drive and Colony Road.
Officers were diverting traffic onto Colony Road.
No power outages were reported in the area.
