Hot air balloon crashes into tree; 1 person hurt, officials say

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — A hot air balloon crashed into a tree Friday afternoon in Iredell County, officials said.

They said a pilot was training another person when they crashed into a guard rail on Cool Springs Road.

Iredell EMS said the trainee was hurt with a broken ankle after hitting the rail. The pilot is OK.
