CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Much has changed in North Carolina since the early days of the ACC Tournament.

Decades ago, school teachers across the state would roll televisions into their classrooms and students and faculty, leaving learning for later, would watch as David Thompson, Phil Ford and other legends battled for the league title.

Now, of course, any middle-schooler can watch the games on their smartphones.

What hasn’t changed is the passion for the games, which continue this week in Charlotte.
