Dump truck hits sign on I-485, delays expected

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A dump truck hit an overhead sign on Interstate 485 outer loop, according to officials.
 
The accident happened near mile marker 52. Traffic is being rerouted at exit 52.
 
The North Carolina Department of Transportation said I-485 is expected to reopen around 4:30 p.m.
 
NCDOT said to use exit 52 – John Street/Monroe Road – and continue up and over back to I-485 outer loop.
