GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A Gastonia woman already in jail on charges of breaking a domestic violence protection order is accused of punching a sheriff's deputy at the Gaston County Jail.
Delonya Lowery, 45, was jailed on Dec. 28 on a charge of breaking a domestic violence protection order, and was given a $25,000 bond.
On Sunday night Lowery punched a female deputy twice in the face while the officer was escorting her to the shower, arrest warrants said.
Lowery was charged with misdemeanor assault on a government official and her bond was doubled to $50,000.
