CONCORD, N.C. - Four years ago Wednesday, someone walked into the Sun Drop bottling plant in Concord and shot and killed two people.
The unsolved crime, which happened in June 2008, shook the Concord community.
The chief of police in Concord said the detectives working the case now are the same ones who began investigating the day the shootings happened. He said this case and any homicide, no matter how long it takes to solve, is never off their radar.
Around 10 a.m. on June 13, 2008, someone walked into the bottling company on Branchview Drive and shot and killed Donna Barnhardt and Darrell Noles. Barnhardt was a longtime employee, and Noles was there to apply for a job.
Police believe it was an attempted robbery.
The case appeared on “America's Most Wanted” in May 2009.
Pictures of Barnhardt and Noles, along with contact information for police, were placed on a race car during a race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Now, four years later, police said they are still getting calls and following up on leads that have taken them across North Carolina and into other states.
If you have any information, call Concord police.
