Iron Station stabbing leaves one injured, one in jail

IRON STATION, N.C. — An argument over a car and some money led to a stabbing in Iron Station on Saturday night, sheriff’s office deputies say.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a stabbing call on East NC 27 Highway around 8:00 p.m. Saturday. Deputies found Samuel Justus Jr., 24, lying on a porch swing and bleeding from a stab wound to the stomach.

According to a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office news release Justin Trey Brown, 28, locked himself inside the residence. Deputies were eventually able to enter the house through the front door.

They said they found Brown in the living room with the knife on the floor beside him. Detectives said Brown told them he and Justus got into an argument over a car and some money, eventually leading to the stabbing.

Brown was arrested and given a $20,000 bond.

Justus was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where he’s recovering from his injuries.
