INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — Jury selection was underway Monday in the trial of Joshua Houser.
Houser is accused of severely abusing his step-daughter, Kilah Davenport, in 2012.
In December he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Kilah had to undergo several surgeries after the abuse. She has never fully recovered and will be in a wheelchair for the rest of her life.
