K-9 snatched from SC firefighter's car

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. — A South Carolina firefighter said his personal search and rescue K-9 was stolen out of his vehicle this week.

Carl Hall, with the Horry County Fire Rescue, told WPDE he was training Tuesday night when someone took his dog, Hope, and some equipment from his car.

Hall said he has had the 3-year-old German shepherd for two years.

A police report said Hall returned to his car and noticed a passenger-side door was open.

He said Hope was gone, along with two police bags. Hall told police Hope is equipped with a chip reader.

Horry County Fire Rescue officials said they’ll try and help find the dog in any way they can.
