KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Kannapolis firefighters responded to a house fire in the 4000 block of Samuel Richard Street Monday arrival afternoon.
Heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from the front of the one-story house.
The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes but the house was significantly damaged.
A resident of the home was able to safely leave the home prior to the fire department's arrival. No one was injured.
The American Red Cross is assisting the residents. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
