Kellogg announces closing of Charlotte plant

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Kellogg Company announced Tuesday that it will close its Charlotte snack plant by the end of 2014.

The closure comes as the company announced changes to its North American supply chain network and will impact 195 jobs.

The company will eliminate two production lines at its snacks plan in Cincinnati, OH.

The company is making the closures as part of 4-year efficiency program where it will attempt to strengthen its existing business in key markets.

The Charlotte snack plant is located on 933 Louise Avenue off Central Avenue.

The plant produces a variety of cookies including Famous Amos, Austin Sandwich Cremes and Iced Animals.
