Kings Mountain police ask for public's help in tracking down wanted felon

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. — Officials with the Kings Mountain Police Department are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a wanted felon.

Authorities said Friday that 53-year-old Billy Joe Meeks assaulted his ex-girlfriend and another person, and is currently avoiding arrest.

According to officials, Meeks has outstanding felony warrants for first-degree burglary and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.

Meeks is described as white, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 180 lbs., with green eyes and brown hair.

Anyone who encounters Meeks is asked to call 911.
