Lancaster County man charged with stabbing woman to death

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Arkevus Cauthen, 28, of Lancaster County, was arrested on suspicion of stabbing Sandra Johnson, 54, in her home.

A family member found Johnson Tuesday afternoon lying on the floor of her Depot Drive home in Heath Springs.

“We are continuing to talk to witnesses to determine the relationship, if any, between Cauthen and Ms. Johnson,” said Sheriff Barry Faile. “We are also attempting to determine when Miss Johnson was killed. There is much forensic evidence to be processed and analyzed in this case.

"We appreciate the information we were provided from the very beginning of this investigation which led us to Cauthen and enabled us to take him into custody for this horrific crime just a little over 24 hours after its discovery.”
