LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. - Officials in Lincoln County released the 911 call an elderly woman made after an armed man barged into her home while she and her husband were reading the Bible.
The call gives insight into why she waited to call for help.
“How long ago did this happen? Did it happen as soon as you called us?” asked the dispatcher.
“No, but he said he would kill me and that somebody was watching the house and he had my lines tapped and if I’d call in 15 minutes, somebody would come back and kill me,” the woman said.
The victim told dispatchers she offered all her money to the man when he came into their home on Goodson Road, but all he wanted was prescription drugs.
She also said the man ran away toward Maiden Highway.
The suspect has not been caught.
