Little boy gives free hugs and donuts to officers in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A mother shared her 5-year-old son’s story of love during the violent unrest that hit Charlotte this past week.

In a Facebook post, the Deanna Hooker said her son, Jayden, woke up one night and was scared from the helicopters and sirens outside their house.

The next morning, on the way to school, Jayden was listening to the radio and heard about police getting injured during the protests. He asked his mother if he could bring the police donuts and give them hugs for all they do.

That’s just what he did.

Deanna took Jayden to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department where he gave out hugs and donuts and told every officer he appreciated all they do to keep us safe.
