Local Red Cross sending volunteers to Gulf Coast


CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The local American Red Cross is sending volunteers to the Gulf Coast on Tuesday in anticipation of Tropical Storm Isaac.

Four volunteers from Cleveland County are heading to Mississippi and one volunteer from Gaston County is heading to Alabama.

Since last week, the Red Cross said it already has more than 1,500 disaster workers assigned to the response.
