Luxury homebuilder plans local debut with Providence Road project

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Long Island homebuilder, Beechwood Homes, is making its market debut in the Carolinas.

The Jericho, New York-based builder last month hired Bob Kardos as Carolinas regional president at Beechwood. Kardos was most recently an executive with Epcon Communities, which develops active-adult communities. His resume also includes Charlotte leadership roles at Mattamy Homes and Toll Brothers.

Beechwood Homes has filed a rezoning petition for its first local project, Ferncliff, which is proposed to include five upscale townhouses, at 2635 Providence Road. On Long Island, Beechwood’s portfolio includes luxury infill housing product, such as duplexes, townhouses and condos, Kardos said.
