Troopers: RV hit pickup truck, causing it to go into trees

ROCK HILL — Emergency crews responded to an accident on Interstate 77 South near exit 77 in Rock Hill.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the scene, where a pickup truck had gone off the road and up an embankment.

According to Troopers, the cause of the wreck was an RV that changed lanes into the pickup truck, forcing it off of the road and into the trees.

Firefighters were seen using ladders to climb to the scene.

The accident caused a major backup on I-77.

A Med-Air chopper landed on the scene, transporting the female driver of the pickup to Carolinas Medical Center.

The RV driver will be cited.
