CONCORD, N.C. - Police in Concord said they witnessed a drunk driver intentionally try to run over two pedestrians Saturday night.
Officers said Jesus Zavala sped up and then ran off Bost Avenue Saturday night, aiming for two people walking on the side of the road.
When police pulled Zavala over, they said he flat out told them he was drunk -- and he blew a .21.
When they tried to read him his Miranda rights later, they said he pretended to not understand English.
