MAIDEN, N.C. — A man accused in an attempted armed robbery at a Maiden Food Lion is behind bars.
Police said Bobby Drum stormed into the store on Island Ford Road Monday afternoon and pointed a gun at employees.
Authorities said Drum then grabbed one of the workers and demanded cash.
Officers said the employee refused and was able to get away from Drum.
Newton police helped Maiden officers arrest Drum after he sped away from the store. He's due in court Tuesday on assault and attempted robbery charges.
